Please join us in offering a special shoutout to our donor and partner Samsung, whose generous support is helping to make our 9th Annual NY Game Awards our best event ever. Space is becoming super limited, so secure your seat by purchasing tickets here.
Samsung has been a valuable partner to the New York Videogame Critics Circle this past year. Now, we are honored to be the recipient of the Samsung Community Impact Grant, which enables us to continue our collaboration with the Dreamyard Prep School in the Bronx and the Henry Street Settlement on the Lower East Side.
This also aligns with Samsung’s commitment to use technology to “do good” for communities around the globe, while continuing to build innovative tech that enhances our everyday lives.
Some IRL examples of this include Relumino, an app that works with Gear VR to assist the visually impaired, GEMS, aka the Gait Enhancing Mobility System exoskeleton, which helps people walk and IGNIS thermal imaging cameras, designed to help firefighters stay safe on the job.
Recently, the tech giant also announced the expansion of the Samsung Innovation Campus, which trains young people on AI, IoT and cloud technologies. To date the program has reached 20,000 students in 13 countries and this new expansion is expected to double that reach.
The New York Videogame Critics Circle is dedicated to using our knowledge and passion for games to enhance others lives as well. That’s the real reason we produce the New York Game Awards. We’re thrilled to have Samsung as a partner in that mission.
