NEW YORK (Jan. 10, 2023) – Today, New York Videogame Critics Circle (NYVGCC) revealed the Knickerbocker Award for Best Games Journalism nominees for the 12th annual New York Game Awards. The awards show will take place live and in person at SVA Theatre in Manhattan on Tuesday, January 17 with NYVGCC board member and former President of Nintendo of America, Reggie Fils-Aimé, and NYVGCC president and founder, Harold Goldberg, returning as co-hosts.

“For our interns and members, the Knickerbocker Award for Best Games Journalism nominees represent how important deep reporting, essays and reviews are to the games industry by bringing people together,” said Harold Goldberg, president and founder, NYVGCC. “Journalism work is one of the core paid internships we are able to provide to underserved youth through our non-profit. We are so honored to recognize these hardworking individuals at our 12th annual New York Games Awards.”

The Knickerbocker Award for Best Games Journalism includes seven individuals who provided deep insight into the games industry and relatable takes on the compelling nature of video games. These nominees come on the heels of last week’s games nominations announcement, which included the Big Apple Award for Best Game of the Year, Off Broadway Award for Best Indie Game, and more. A full list of nominees can be viewed here. The awards show will also honor CEO of Microsoft Gaming, Phil Spencer, as the 2023 Andrew Yoon Legend Award winner.
