Awards: Daily Show’s Owen Parsons Is Our New Host!

by Harold Goldberg

The New York Videogame Critics Circle is happy to announce that  Owen Parsons is our host for the 5th Annual New York Game Awards on February 9th, 2016.

Owen is an Emmy Award-winning writer from The Daily Show with Trevor Noah (and, before that, with Jon Stewart). Prior to The Daily Show, he worked for CollegeHumor. And he really enjoys games. Here’s a playlist of many of Owen’s videos. It takes a fair amount of knowledge about popular culture and the entertainment industry itself to create something like this.

Daniel Radosh, our host for the past three years, will be doing some writing for the Awards as well. Now senior writer for The Daily Show, I feel it was Radosh who created the voice for the New York Game Awards. I’m happy to note he’ll be a presenter as well.

All told, it’s going to be a really great event which you can attend (more on how soon). Or you can watch it on Twitch.

We’ll have more news of the Awards throughout the week and beyond. Stay tuned!

Harold Goldberg, the Circle’s founder, is the author of All Your Base Are Belong to Us (How 50 Years of Videogames Conquered Pop Culture). His new book is The League of Legends Experience.
