Yesterday was Championship Sunday and my final day at Pokémon XP and Worlds. Here are some things I captured:
I woke up to the news that the pin rally was cancelled for the day. All weekend, fans waited in extremely long lines for Pokémon pins. I believe it got too crowded, influencing the decision to discontinue it for the day.Pin trading was still in full swing from the previous pin rally days. I caught some Pokémon on the beach near the Golden Gate Bridge. Zeta Division won the first match of the day and were crowned the Pokémon Unite World Champions.Takuma Yamazaki was the VGC Event Winner and his humble journey to the Championship was so inspiring.Mr. Ishihara, President and CEO of The Pokémon Company announced a new Pokémon movie coming to theaters in 2027. Great: it’s been too long!The surprise guest at the end of the World Championships was Ed Sheeran. I was very surprised and excited!
