Here below are all the winners of our 1st Fair Game Writing Challenge in partnership with Games for Change.
This is the New York Videogame Critics Circle’s first nationwide writing contest and we’re so glad it worked out well for all involved. Each student entrant from various regions around the country had to write a game review and a game narrative story. Each region will win $400 plus a mentoring session with the Circle. So many of the entries were great, it was difficult for our judges to choose semi-finalists and finalists!
Big thanks to Helen Pfeffer, Ronald Gordon, Sara Clemens, Sherri Smith, Whitney Meers and Harold Goldberg for their hard work in judging student works. Thanks also to all the folks at Games for Change who worked with such positivity as they put the voting and marketing portions of the challenge into place.
And kudos most of all to the awesome students who poured their hearts out in these essays. You all rocked it!
