As the 2020 New York Game Awards draw near, the New York Videogame Critics Circle is proud to announce that NPD Group, will be participating in the festivities as one of the event’s donors. NPD specializes in offering data, industry expertise and prescriptive analytics to help brands grow. Highlighting its unique role within in the gaming industry, NPD will showcase videogame trivia on screens throughout SVA Theater. The awards ceremony is rapidly approaching, but there’s still time to purchase tickets on the New York Videogame Critics Circle website.

The pre-show trivia will draw on NPD’s decades of videogame analysis to prove who among the audience has superior gaming knowledge and prowess. Questions will celebrate the rich history of gaming culture and these questions even stumped some of us at the Circle.

NPD is a pioneer in the videogame industry, having provided the earliest standardized source for game sales and information. So as pioneers of journalism in underserved areas, the New York Videogame Critics Circle is grateful to NPD for supporting our mission to foster diversity and inclusiveness in the New York gaming community, which it does through relationships with Dreamyard Preparatory School, The Henry Street Settlement, Older Adults Technology Services (O.A.T.S.) and a variety of other organizations. This year’s New York Game Awards will feature an appearance from former President and COO of Nintendo of America, Reggie Fils-Aimé. The Circle will honor Fils-Aimé with the Andrew Yoon Legend Award, which recognizes exceptional achievement and innovation in the industry.
