The New York Videogame Critics Circle is proud to announce that noted literary novelist Joshua Cohen will present the Herman Melville Award for Best Writing at the New York Game Awards on February 9.
When “Book of Numbers,” Cohen’s most recent work, was reviewed in The New York Times, critic Mark Sarvas wrote, “Comparisons to Thomas Pynchon and David Foster Wallace have become de riguer when discussing Cohen’s work, but there’s also a trace of Saul Bellow’s stylistic exuberance in these pages.”
Because narrative in games has become much better during the course of the last decade, The Circle has made it a tradition to ask noted writers to present the Best Writing Award. Previous presenters include Lev Grossman and Rick Moody.
Welcome, Joshua Cohen, to the New York Game Awards!
