We are completely honored to welcome Georgina Pazcoguin, the Rogue Ballerina, to the 14th Annual New York Game Awards on 1/21/25 at SVA Theatre! Georgina was a lauded soloist for the legendary New York City Ballet and is the author of the worldwide bestselling book, “Swan Dive.”
Georgina is also an ardent fan of video games. The Worldwide Premiere dance feature she is going to present to you during the New York Game Awards on 1/21/25 will absolutely blow your mind. One of Georgina’s goals has been to bring popular art to high art, and this will be in full display at our event. Awards host Reggie Fils-Aimé and I will also briefly talk with Georgina after her presentation.
“Swan Dive” received rave reviews across the board when it was released, including this from The Guardian:
Swan Dive is a coming-of-age memoir and a shocking, often disgusting – and, frankly, riveting – tell-all about the reality of the ballet world….Pazcoguin is eloquent on the euphoria of movement, the rewarding pain of hours of practise, the sweet spot where music and dance and costuming come together. She is also exceptional at describing the nitty-gritty of choreography, staging and performance, of capturing what it feels like to dance brilliantly in a masterpiece ( between running off stage during breaks to chug down a painkiller from a gigantic box in the wings).
The awesome trailblazer also has appeared on Good Morning, America.
