Jillian Martin was the lucky winner at the New York Game Awards on Tuesday January 23, winning a copy of the giant The Last Of Us Part II Collector’s Edition signed by Legend Award winner Neil Druckmann. Martin was overcome with joy when the announcement was made on stage by Harold Goldberg. After screaming from the crowd, she ran to the stage in tears to collect her prize.
Martin took to Twitter/X to share her excitement following the awards. “This was beyond a huge moment for me cuz this game means everything to me. I even managed to win the raffle for a The Last of Us part 2 collector’s edition, signed by him.” Martin also posted a short vlog on YouTube about the Critics Circle, winning the raffle, and meeting her hero Neil Druckmann.
Prior to the show, guests could enter the raffle by making a donation the New York Videogame Critics Circle. Guests who purchased a specific tier ticket were also added to the raffle. The funds raised from the raffle will be dedicated to the nonprofit’s educational initiatives, teaching games journalism and video game narrative to underserved and unhoused students.
