Well, we missed the Overwatch finals in NYC, but it was for the greater good — helping people out.
On Friday, the NYVGCC held its summer community event with a kaleidoscope of people playing games with everyone from Geek.com’s Jordan Minor to our senior intern Kimari Rennis. We played “Mario Tennis Aces” and “Dead and Buried” for Oculus Go. (Note that all children had parental permission play the Go for five minutes each.)
On the next day, we had a games panel at the New York Public Library’s Main Branch on 5th Ave with the excellent Allegra Frank from Polygon, Scott Stein from CNET, Chris_Byrd from the Washington Post, Sherri L. Smith from Tom’s Guide and me. Plus, there were Minecraft figure giveaways plus my Kickstarted “League of Legends Experience” book, which follows Cloud9 around the world as they compete.
Here are select photos from the two events.
