Hello, Critics Circle members and fans. My name is Desiree Bonilla. I am the new 15 year old intern for the New York Videogame Critics Circle (NYVGCC). Perrsonally, I am a fan of video games like Kingdom Hearts and Fortnite Battle Royale. Kingdom Hearts, in my opinion, has a great story line that never fails to keep me entertained. On the other hand, Fortnite is another game that keeps me engaged because of its competitiveness.
It’s the beginning of 2018 and people are becoming anxious for the new games, updates and movies releasing this year (like Black Panther!). Alright, without further delay here are some things going on inside The Circle.
Chelsea Stark – In her review of Monster Hunter: World, Chelsea discusses how Capcom has achieved their goal in creating a much more inviting game than previous game in the series. For Chelsea, it’s easy to recommend this game for all types of players. You can find her review here.
Chris Byrd – In Byrd’s recent review of “Shadow Of The Colossus,” he discusses the game’s story and how the opponents (the colossi) are the reasons the game is brilliant. If you are a fan of Shadow Of The Colossus I recommend reading his article, which can be found here. Also, Kimari Rennis wrote about the game recently for our site.
Heather Alexandra tends to provide information on the development of a game in some of her stories. Alexandra has a lot of stories on Metal Gear Survive, describing how it’s both fun and frustrating. She also often gives advice on how to play. If you are interested in Metal Gear Survive, I suggest reading her review here.
Gita Jackson – Fashion-minded Gita Jackson recently discussed her opinion on Overwatch League’s Hosts’ outfits. She seemed to believe that they clearly needed some fashion advice. She goes on to explain how she feels about certain hosts’ outfits and provides suggestions on how to look better. If you would like to read more of Gita Jackson’s fashion advice, you can find it here.
Eb Samuel’s most recent review was on Dissidia Final Fantasy NT. He provides details on the beauty of the game, the music, the energy, and much more. If you are a Final Fantasy fan, visit Eb Samuel page here.
News From Beyond The Circle
Let’s talk about the new “Impulse Grenade” in the Fortnite Battle Royale update. I mean seriously, it’s one thing to throw a “boogie bomb” at the opponent, causing them to dance. But to be able to blast them and yourself away is honestly insane. Also, a new Battle Pass coming out. Epic Games revealed that Season 3 Battle Pass will have 76 items in total. That is 30 more items than in Season 2. Epic Games are also adding a new customization option for your character’s back. Battle Pass will only cost 950 V-bucks (which is $9.50).
New York City’s Playcrafting group has recently created an interesting course beginning March 27 to May 17th. In Info Session & Mini Expo: Learn Unreal In 8 Weeks, you are given a chance to create games of your own, even if you are not experienced. All you will need is a laptop with Unreal installed. For more information check out the website here.
The AbleGamers Foundation announced that, starting March 15, the three recipients of their TrainJam sponsorship will participate in a three day game design event that includes the long train trek to the Game Developers Conference. AbleGamers have created a new video, including the three TrainJam sponsorees: Harrison Isadore Barton, Rae Michelle Richards and Jade Hall-Smith. Please check it out here and share if you can!
That is all for this week’s Roundup. Enjoy the rest of your day!
