Tickets for the 14th Annual New York Game Awards on 1/21/25 are now available!

Throughout the fall and into the beginning of winter, the New York Videogame Circle taught three-day-a-week course at the Bronx’s Lab School for Finance and Technology.

The class was near the top of our nonprofit’s best experiences with a school. Spearheaded by executive director Ryan O’Callaghan, this curriculum was our most intensive yet. Students learn to write both game journalism and gain narrative. In addition, they had to present their work live and in front of our judges, Ryan, mentors Isaac Espinosa and Ronald Gordon, journalists Sherri L. Smith and Luis Aguasvivas – and Circle founder Harold Goldberg.

The winner would receive a Lenovo Legion 5 Gaming Laptop. The computer was a constant source of inspiration for our students.
