All You Need To Know: The NY Videogame Critics Circle Awards

We’re happy to announce The 3rd Annual New York Videogame Critics Circle Awards ceremony will be held on February 11 at 7:30 p.m. Game developers from the U.S. and world over plan to attend the Awards show at New York University’s Pfizer Auditorium, 5 Metrotech Center in Brooklyn.
The show will be written and hosted by The Daily Show with Jon Stewart’s Emmy Award-winning scribe, Daniel Radosh. Daniel also has written for The New Yorker magazine.
There will also be a very special, exclusive video surprise for attendees and viewers. That’s all we can say. Tune in to our stream on the 11th for more.
Twitch is the official streamer of the New York Videogame Critics Circle Awards. You can watch the show at http://www.twitch.tv/nyugamecenter/.
Our musical guest this year is Future Folk, an amazing duo featuring Jay Klaitz and Nils d’Aulaire. “The History of Future Folk,” their awesome movie, was a Critic’s Pick at the New York Times. Jay is also the voice of Lester in this year’s multi-category nominee, Grand Theft Auto V.
Presenting the Herman Melville Award for Best Writing in a Videogame is Rick Moody, the brilliant, lauded author of “The Ice Storm” and “Four Fingers of Death.”
To present the Tin Pan Alley Award for Best Music, we have Handsome Dick Manitoba, the lead singer from the seminal punk band The Dictators. Handsome Dick Manitoba also hosts a compelling, energetic show on Little Steven’s Underground Garage for Sirius/XM Radio.
To begin, we’ll have an esteemed panel of critics onstage just prior to the Awards event to discuss the Year in Games. These writers include Harold Goldberg, a contributor to the New York Times, Evan Narcisse from Kotaku, Jill Scharr from Tom’s Guide, Mike Futter from Game Informer, Chelsea Stark from Mashable and Jeff Bakalar from CNET/404.
Again this year, The Circle is happy to continue its relationship with New York University’s Game Center by holding the event at the Pfizer Auditorium at 5 MetroTech Center in Brooklyn. Thanks to the NYU Game Center for their invaluable help.
To top things off, there will be an After Party with free libations outside the Pfizer Auditorium where fans and guests can mingle with game developers and members of The Circle.
You can find all the nominees right here.
