The sold out New York Game Awards were watched by 100,000 people on Twitch.
Twitch has taken a deep interest as we’ve moved to become a non-profit organization.
That’s because the New York Videogame Critics Circle gives back to the community in many ways: with scholarships and mentoring of high schools students, with workshops for older adults, with readings and panel discussions at the New York Public Library system – and more.
Personally, I’ve watched Twitch’s growth with a combination of awe and pride. There’s awe because of the masses of gamers who flock to Twitch. And there’s pride because I realize that Chase, whom I’ve known since he was a games writer, has been an important part of the site’s massive evolution.
So relive the festivities and watch the New York Game Awards live on our Twitch channel. You’ll see Bethesda Game Studio’s Todd Howard get his Legend Award and watch our critics-made documentary about him. You’ll see world premieres for Octogedden and Where The Water Tastes Like Wine. There’ll be two bands as well, along with so many game luminaries – including Geoff Keighley. All on Twitch!
