The New York Videogame Critics Circle wants to welcome back Green Man Gaming as one of its core sponsors for the New York Game Awards. During a lunch at in London at Waterloo Station, Green Man Gaming offered helpful, cogent suggestions for what was then an vague vision to create a scholarship for students at The DreamYard School in the Bronx.

Through their consul which lasted from late summer and through fall, our scholarship initiative began to evolve. The plan became a contest about videogame narrative, which The Circle feels is one of the last frontiers in video game creation. Our idea is not to stop with the scholarship. We’ll also have talks at The DreamYard with members of the New York Videogame Critics Circle and game developers throughout 2016.

As our judges peruse at the many entries from The DreamYard’s students, we’re heartened to see how creative and inventive they are. But without those encouraging meetings in London which were ardently made reality by the people at Green Man Gaming, it’s doubtful our work would have moved forward with the speed that it has. So now, thankfully, it’s all about the kids.
